Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
graham young: ilikemusic because... its the food of love...........rock on.
Steff, Webmaster Musebr.com: ilikemusic because... the shows are very good, we make friends, we jump, and everybody scream so loud, and for a moment we forget all the problems of the world!
Ricky Cole (ricksta productions): ilikemusic because... it lets me express the way iam,and how i stand in life,my music is me!
iona starr: ilikemusic because... it soothes my soul ;) x
Tom Baxter: ilikemusic because... It makes you feel alive more than anything else.
Martin Rowe-Miller: ilikemusic because... it enabled me to win the Motorokrstar UK competition and record with Wyclef and Fergie.
Jo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.
Jun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
Q. What other resources are available?
A. Lots of information on lots of aspects of songwriting. For example, music industry sites, legal stuff, copyright, improving your songwriting skills, improving your musicianship, computer software that can help. You might like to visit Songlink International for a great links collection or Jeff Mallet's Songwriter Site.
Q. How much will it cost to have my own website?
A. I know it's not a very helpful answer but it really is like asking 'how long is a piece of string?'. It depends on how many pages, images, sound files, how often you want it updating, do you want your own domain name? do you want to sell stuff? My advice would be to search out sites that you like the look of and that have the facilities on there that you require and then get a quote from website design company specialising in music sites (e.g. http://www.kiss-it.net/, greenweb-design.co.uk).
