I Like Music Because heading
  • Jo WhileyJo Whiley: ilikemusic because... It makes me laugh and it makes my cry and it gets me out of a stress if I’m in a stress, and, if I’m in a good place then it will make me in a better place. It’s all about the emotion, it’s all about the feeling where music takes you to and what affect it has on you.

BBC Electric Proms Live Life Digital Photography Competition Winner Announced

Emma started a photography course in Newport but wasn't able to complete her studies. She has carried on taking pictures and working on commissions for free, often fighting through the melee of burly photographers at gigs to get her shots. Emma's BBC Electric Proms pass will enable her to gain unique access to the photographers' pit and enjoy the once in a lifetime opportunity to document the festival. Her images of artists including The Raconteurs, James Brown and The Who will then go online at the official BBC Electric Proms website at bbc.co.uk/electricproms.

BBC Electric Proms Festival Director Lorna Clarke said, "With over 800 entries to the competition, the response to Live/Life has been fantastic and I'm delighted to offer Emma the chance to document the first year of this groundbreaking musical event."

Rob Crane, Art Director, 125 Magazine said, "We were delighted with the range and diversity of the submissions for Live/Life. It was difficult to chose an overall winner but we're very pleased that Emma is an aspiring photographer and wish her well in her future endeavours."
