I Like Music Because heading
  • RejinaReclusiveRejinaReclusive: ilikemusic because... it helps me remember. It helps me forget. It helps me be strong and it makes me cry. Music screams the words I can't say, the feelings I can't express. It makes my heart feel alive.

It's Your Choice

Invest In Your Self and Your Dreams

The next step, once you know what you want to do for a living, is to invest time and energy into yourself and your dreams.

DJ Steve Sutherland has interviewed many stars, from Beyonce and Mariah Carey to Usher, who Steve has interviewed nine times in total.

So what has Steve learned from these people at the top of their game?

"Well," says Steve. "I asked Usher, 'how do you keep up? How do you keep this going?' He says, 'You know what? I'm in the studio every morning and then I go and do my weights at the gym, then I go and have vocal training, have a sleep, go shopping, come back, do some more vocal training, go to the gym…" These people are the top of their game and worth hundreds of millions of dollars, because they get up and still do what they've got to do."

"Stevie Wonder has been in the industry for 40 years, he's regarded as a God by the music industry, yet he has vocal lessons every morning. Now that should tell people that these guys, even at the top of their game, they're still aspiring to be better."
