Alongside the single CD jewel case edition there will be a special deluxe digi-pack version with an additional 50 minute DVD disc featuring the classic Frank Sinatra In Concert at the Royal Festival Hall from 1971 which is currently unavailable in the UK. Introduced by Princess Grace Of Monaco, Sinatra's co-star from High Society, he performs signature songs like "The Lady Is A Tramp", "I've Got You Under My Skin", "One For My Baby" and "My Kind Of Town", among others.
FRANK SINATRA FILM SEASON
Also commemorating the 10th year since Sinatra's passing, BFI Southbank presents a Frank Sinatra Film Season throughout May. Rhino UK/Warner Music are the proud sponsor's of the retrospective which features Sinatra's finest films.
The season includes From Here To Eternity, The Man With The Golden Arm, High Society, Pal Joey, Meet Danny Wilson, The Detective, The Manchurian Candidate plus an extended run of the now too seldom seen Some Came Running (1958), directed by Vincente Minnelli.
Additionally, Turner Classic Movies (TCM) will honour Sinatra with a month-long festival of films and specials airing every weekend throughout the month. Among the films included in the May celebration are Anchors Aweigh; High Society; The Tender Trap; Never So Few and On The Town.
A beloved entertainer for six decades, Sinatra achievements earned him awards including three Oscars, two Golden Globes, 10 personal Grammys (and a total of 21 including those for his albums), an Emmy and even the Presidential Medal of Honour, as well as many others. A generous charitable contributor, one of his most prestigious awards was the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in 1971. Born in Hoboken, New Jersey in 1915, the city's Post Office was renamed in his honour in 2002. He died in Los Angeles in 1998.page << 1 2 3 >>
