Peter Bjorn and John were formed in Stockholm, Sweden, in 1999. Made up of members Peter Moren on vocals, guitar, and harmonica; Bjorn Yttling on vocals, bass, vocals, and keyboards; and John Eriksson on drums, percussion, and vocals, the band is influenced by the sounds of classic '60s baroque pop, power pop, and new wave, but the guys aren't revivalists. Instead they are creating some of the most exciting and original indie rock of the mid-2000s.

Their most recent single Young Folks was relased on 17 September hit the UK Top 20 last month. Since its original release in August 2006, 'Young Folks' has become a global phenomenon inspiring folk both young and old to shimmy across dancefloors meanwhile catapulting Peter Bjorn and John into the musical stratosphere, touring in ever bigger venues across America, Japan and everywhere in between.

Easily one of the singles of the decade, not many songs have swept across the world like 'Young Folks'. PBJ have kept it simple. In doing so they have created the most perfect pop song in years. It's an uplifting pop masterpiece, the perfect antidote to what has so far been a wet old summer in the UK.
