We Love Homelands 2004 Review
The Freestylers enchanted afternoon attendees with an amazing set, featuring tracks from their new album, Raw as F**k, including their new single Push Up. The Freestylers Aston told us,
"Push up is sort of early eighties-ish electro p-funk with a vocal on it by this guy, Theo, and it's great. I like to enjoy Homelands the day as a whole, rather than dashing off to see everything. We haven't done a festival with a band in England for about three years, so our show today was great because, before we went on there was noone there, and then ten minutes before we went on, it was rammed," he smiles before heading off to grab a drink from the VIP tent bar (which has to be congratulated in itself for banging out some brilliant tunes, including a fine mix with Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill - nice touch!)
Also spotted in the VIP bar until darknes fell was Happy Monday's Bez, who told us he was most looking forward to "taking loads of drugs." Asked what he's been up to lately, Bez smiled, "I just take loads of drugs, go out and speak to strangers all day."
