Global Gathering Review by Paul Kershaw

Review By Galaxy FM DJ Paul Kershaw

When someone asked me to write 300 words on an event such as Global Gathering, I sat back and thought 'how the hell do I do that?'. I mean I could sit here and tell you how beautifully hot it was (29 degrees, I checked), how wonderful the array of clubbers was with so many people clearly having made their own colourful costumes.

I could tell you about the Beach Arena with however many thousand tonnes of sand that had been imported for the event, which provided such an adventure playground for the 'up for it' clubbers. Then there was the funfair…oh my God how I could sit here and tell you about the bungee jump and other scary rides that made up the centre of the site! The wide array of arenas, covering pretty much every form of dance music? Well if course I'd tell you about that, and how pretty much every dj under the sun was there, from Sanchez to Sasha and Morillo they were all present and correct!

I could pontificate on what a wonderful job Godskitchen had done too, and tell you how they're already planning GKGG 2005 and trying to make it bigger and better than ever. I could tell you my highlights, which included having a nice clean loo to use in the Galaxy area, and also hearing Paul Oakenfold play one of his renowned festival sets, raising the imaginary roof of the Beach Arena to thousands of expectant clubbers.

I could tell you how well policed the site was too, by friendly and ever present security staff. So there you have it, where do I begin to tell you about Global Gathering and how it's the only festival all about djs and nothing else? I tell you, it's going to be tough!
