Above & Beyond - Tri-State

Much like their award winning Radio 1 Essential Mix, A&B's album seamlessly fuses dance beats and movie-soundtrack moments. "We're well known for making new electronic sounds and we've made some great new noises for Tri-State. But we all really love the sound of real instruments like strings and piano, and that's an important thread on the album." Says Paavo. "We like to think of it as the soundtrack to a really great, emotional movie."

As both producers and DJs, Above & Beyond should need little introduction to the dance community. Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamäki met while studying at university in London. With Tony McGuiness, they came together under the Above and Beyond name to remix Chakra's 'Home' in 2000. In the interceding five years they've gone on to become one of the world's foremost credible dance acts; a group Pete Tong labelled as "the UK's new dance superstars", when they took the prized gong for 'Essential Mix of the Year'. More recently they were nominated alongside The Chemical Brothers, The Scissor Sisters and Basement Jaxx for the coveted Best Dance Group category at the Miami WMC.
