The first Annie Mac Presents… 2 CD mix for Island Records is an extension of the hugely successful nights Annie has put on in the UK and Ireland as well as New York, Miami and Ibiza. It's an immaculate selection of what's exciting at the moment seen through Annie's fresh-eyed prism and killer dance floor ears.
'The first CD is an hour of more peak time stuff' says Annie. ' It's indicative of a typical DJ set for me, starting off a bit bouncy and fun and then getting a little harder and ending in dubstep.'
Its kicks off with a 'special' for Ms Mac by grime's first superstar Dizzee Rascal - reworking his track 'Butterfly' over a Shy FX rhythm. From there it's a runaway ride through the hottest, hardest producers pushing buttons out there; Boy 8-Bit, Major Lazer, Joker, Greenmoney, Renaissance Man, Geeneus, Zinc, Rusko. Totally of the moment, it reflects some of the genre mash ups and cross-pollinations afoot in our webbed-up world.
Whether that's a UK Funky producers remix of a Swedish Mafia big room highlight (Show Me Love (Geeneus Remix) - Steve Angello & Laidback Luke) or a Purple Wow dub of indie-dance's premier dynamic-duo (Cruel Intentions (Joker Dub remix) - Simian Mobile Disco).
