Recently tagged by excitable UK media as 'the hottest tip since Hot Chip' (NME), 'most impressive' (Guardian Guide) and 'a Scandinavian sensation' (The Independent) Casiokids have also pricked up the ears of UK stalwarts The Doves who upon hearing the last single, keenly requested the band support them on tour (they couldn't).
Casiokids' music spans the widths and breadths of bass heavy pop, synthy dub and darker percussive club moments, all the time with a smattering of their distinctive harmonic vocals. Similar to Sigor Ros before them, the band don't sing in English - something which, it transpires, has seemingly no effect on how many new fans they scoop up across the world - evidently the addictive melodies and danceable pop hooks talk to huge audiences regardless. With a busy summer lined up including sets at Glastonbury, Bestival and Oxegen plus clearing the board at Scandanavian festivals (Hove, Arvika, Siesta) the band's swift success to date appears indicative of the universal language that music speaks regardless of understandable lyrics.
