Jair Dynast: ilikemusic because... I am able to express my thoughts and ideas with a worldwide audience and make a lasting connection with the fans that relate to my music. It's a special gift to be able to share my life experiences through music and have it connect with so many people. Hopefully in many cases my music can help fans through the day, the month or the year. Blessings to all music lovers!!
Chuck, Simple Plan: ilikemusic because... It was always a way to escape whatever problems I was going through; whatever trouble I had, I could just put on a record or a song and feel better right away and I hope that our music can have the same effect on our fans.
Patrick: ilikemusic because... Music came from the universe...always finding a way into societies from the beginning of time. I imagine it has always been out there waiting for us to show up. I'm so glad we made it!
Ellen, Los Campesinos: ilikemusic because... It’s the best form of escapism that you can have wherever you are. You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.
lolo: ilikemusic because... music is where some people display affection, show emotions and actually showing off who they are and their thinking. it is special unlike anything cos it goes out and never comes in back but in others.
DJ Format: ilikemusic because... I was never going to make it as a footballer
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
fiorella: me gusta la musica porque es super
Keane: ilikemusic because... It’s the way we express ourselves
Signing to WARP at 20, while still at Bristol University, forced Chris to drop the arrogance, though. "I had to," he says. "I didn't need to push myself in everyone's faces once I was signed, I'd achieved that, and now it was time to put up or shut up: I had to make the work." Despite his prodigious work rate, though, this was never a strain for him: the idyllic life he'd dreamed of had become a reality. "Seriously, I don't need anything if I have space to make music. If my flat has a bed and space to arrange my kit so it's comfortable to work I don't need anything else. OK, I do strike a balance between between being a working musician and having a certain amount of decadence going on, but even when I'm on a roll and not sleeping for three days because the tunes keep coming, it doesn't feel like work - this is what I want to be doing."
