I Like Music Because heading
  • Chuck, Simple PlanChuck, Simple Plan: ilikemusic because... It was always a way to escape whatever problems I was going through; whatever trouble I had, I could just put on a record or a song and feel better right away and I hope that our music can have the same effect on our fans.

  • O'BaileyO'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
  • Leon Jean-MarieLeon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?

Hed Kandi presents Nu Cool

A new year signals a new Hed Kandi offering and one of their coolest, chicest, chilled out releases in the collection; Nu Cool is released on January 8th 2007 and is a master class in laid back, après-ski, soulful, hazy laziness with enough funk to keep it in the Kandi family. The perfect slope-side companion or winter antidote - it's a must for any ardent Kandi aficionado.

Set to whet the broader musical appetite of Hed Kandi fans around the world, CD1 is a masterstroke in downtempo excellence, and kicks off with Bugz in The Attic's brilliantly reworked version of 80s soul-disco classic 'Don't Stop The Music'; it meanders through some effortlessly funky cuts from favourites Basement Jaxx and Loose Cannons before delivering Andy Caldwell's sublime and sentimental 'Warrior' and Amp Fiddler's fluently funky groove 'Ridin'. Reel People provide another highlight with 'You Used To Hold Me So Tight' and DJ T takes the funkometer to a new level with his bouncy, bass heavy 'Funk On You'; followed closely by the hauntingly melodic 'Discipolis' from Lifelike & Kris Menace. Adding the frosted cherry to CD1 is Cicada's wicked shoulder shaking, disco fuelled finale 'Electric Blue'.
