High Tech Soul - The Creation Of Techno Music

After selling out 2 nights at the ICA last November and premiering in Europe at Sonar Festival this June, there is a level of interest in this documentary that Plexifilm has rarely experienced. Most recently Bredow took High Tech Soul back to his hometown of Detroit for a celebration that has been the Detroit Electronic Music event of 2006 thus far.

Featuring classic anthems such as Rhythim Is Rhythim's 'Strings of Life' and Inner City's 'Good Life' Plexifilm is proud to present High Tech Soul: The Creation of Techno Music available on DVD from 24 July.

  1. Sam, Get Cape Wear Cape FlySam, Get Cape Wear Cape Fly: ilikemusic because... Music is a special thing that is not like anything else in the world. You might argue that you can translate emotions through films and through books but anyone can make music, whether that be humming or singing along to the radio, it’s something that gives enjoyment and positivity to many people.
  2. JunJun: ilikemusic because... music can convey a mood, enhance a mood or change a mood. Music can be used to inspire and the artform is simple yet complicated. It's fun to listen to and even more fun to create and perform. It speaks when just a simple word can't. It's a blessing!!
  3. Rasmus, AlphabeatRasmus, Alphabeat: ilikemusic because... It makes me happy and it makes me dance around and sometimes it makes me a bit emotional. It encompasses all the emotions from happiness to sadness and it’s fun to play too.
  4. Master GeeMaster Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
  5. James BluntJames Blunt: ilikemusic because... conversation is so limited. It’s the best form of expression we have.
  6. Scott, Thin LizzyScott, Thin Lizzy: ilikemusic because... It lets my adrenalin start pumping, it gets aggression out, and sometimes I can actually get emotional with it. There are many reasons why I like music.
  7. Jez, Utah SaintsJez, Utah Saints: ilikemusic because... It’s very good for the soul.
  8. DemiDemi: ilikemusic because... Girl's love music.
