James Zabiela - UTiLiTiES Launch Party
@ Mono Southampton

It's not so often you get the chance to see your favourite DJ up close and personal, and in your home town! OK, we were super spoilt this time. Thursday 28th July saw Mono in Southampton hold a very cool album launch party indeed.

On arrival, a nice house beat pulsated from the open fronted bar and a very warm and welcoming crowd were spilling out into the street, readying themselves for an evening of top flight, world class dance music. It was still early, and a veritable feast of food stuff was being delivered to those seated, whilst a team of extremely talented and some of the nicest bar staff you are likely to be served by, kept the demanding flow of beer and cocktails coming.

It's got to be said, the atmosphere was fantastic! Very respected DJ Tom Budden's expert knowledge of the local crowd was delivered through the decks with perfect precision, and gently building... Mid evening Tom's beats become more tech based, and slightly harder kicks made heads nod in anticipation of the reason we were all here. Also, with more fingers on the mixer his Dj'ing skills were also stepped up a gear. On the stunning Mono sound rig, this sounded brilliant!
