Kompakt Release Total 9 For 15th Anniversary
It's hard to believe that this compilation remarks 15 endearing years of consonance and music from the Cologne based electronic salad bar known to our many endearing fans as Kompakt.
For those that are new to what we do here, Kompakt came together as a partnership between known techno musicians Michael Mayer, Wolfgang Voigt (aka Gas, Mike Ink, M:I:5, etc), Juergen Paape, and Reinhard Voigt initially as a record shop that today boasts pretty much every service a musician could ever dream of…from our inhouse record labels Kompakt, K2, Kom Ex / Speicher and Kompakt Pop, record shop (digital and physical), distribution hub for over 50 exclusive world-wide labels, recording studios, booking/management agency and so much more, Kompakt strives to keep to it's DIY roots by putting music first. Something that we unanimously feel has been accomplished on this double platter of joyfulness called Total 9….let's dive in.
Total 9 - to the initiated it's an exciting prospect for many folks who don't own vinyl record players or can't be bothered to follow all the singles we lovingly release every year. For all those that follow us religiously, bless them so we return the love with a wealth of exclusive material only to be found on this compilation from the likes of Supermayer, The Modernist, Freiland, Thomas Fehlmann, Jurgen Paape, DJ Koze and others. Finally - to those who just don't buy music preferring to spend their hard earned dollars on partying we offer the annual Total gala here in Cologne on August 15th with a lineup we couldn't be more proud of.
