Krafty Kuts Chats To ilikemusic

Krafty Kuts: Yeah. I can understand why a lot of people who were originally in to breaks have moved away, it's because they felt that out of the breaks DJs they were into, there weren't enough of them producing good music. I can understand, it's only people like Stanton Warriors, Plump DJs, Deekline and myself. The Freestylers haven't really done much.

ILM: So there should be more?

Krafty Kuts: Yeah, there's not enough big artists in breaks producing, especially when you consider Drum 'n' Bass and House. What I'm doing is my own version of other peoples music. When people come to hear me I've got all these tracks that no-one else in the world has. So you could hear Fake Blood but a Krafty Kuts mix, or Crookers but a Krafty Kuts mix.

When I did Get Loaded In The Park I could see peoples faces light up when they heard a record like Crystal Waters or Show Me Love. They recognise it, but it's not the poppy version that we've all heard. I think that is what makes Krafty Kuts exciting. I'm not saying that everyone should copy what I'm doing, but I can understand that the form of breaks music got a little bit dull and needed a kick up the arse, so I've done it myself! It seems that me, Dom and Deekline are really the only ones putting in the energy into consistently making our sets exciting.
