dj.NOMSTA*: ilikemusic because... music likesme!LCD Soundsystem returns with the long awaited release of 'Tribulations' on September 26th 2005 on DFA/EMI.
Taken from the massively acclaimed eponymous 'LCD Soundsystem' debut album - 'Tribulations' is a longstanding live, club and album favourite, that showcases the true depths of the LCD Soundsystem sound, fusing together punk and electro into good old fashioned pop music that barrages your senses in a blitzkrieg of melody and noise.
LCD has spent much of the summer on the road with performances at festivals including Glastonbury, Benicassim, Wireless, T-In The Park (headlining the dance tent), Witness and many others. They have also completed two sold out tours of the UK, headlined an NME Brat Awards show at the Astoria and toured extensively throughout the US and Europe. LCD return to the UK later this month for performances at The Carling festival in Reading / Leeds, Creamfields and Electric Picnic, before embarking on a mammoth US tour throughout the Autumn. They will return to the UK later in the year for some special shows. Watch this space for further details.
The single comes backed with a highly charged mix package that is already causing big waves across clubland and in Ibiza, courtesy of dramatic reworkings by Scandinavian uber-mixer Lindstrom and Canadian club don Tiga in this tranced out classic. That's not forgetting the original itself which has pounded many a bass bin since it's release. The 7" also features a rare live Radio 1 Zane Lowe session version of the track.
'Tribulations' is released on DFA/EMI Records on September 26th. LCD Soundsystem is out now.
Q - "This superb project should instantly propel his charming idiosyncracy towards a wider, less rarefied audience… A revelatory debut"
GQ - "The soundtrack of nocturnal New York… The first essential release of 2005"
Time Out - "sheer, unbridled, let-me-up-and-at-the-dancefloor…extraordinary"
Uncut - "If the scope of past output has seemed too fanzine-cliquey… the range of feeling addressed on this record goes much wider… Liquid ecstacy"
The Guardian - "The momentum never falters: basslines pound, drums skitter and every second feels essential".
