Layers of Sound and The Demetrios Project chat to I Like Music

MIKE: That's something we're looking at. At the moment we're building up a catalogue of strong songs to take out.

ILM: So Mike, you sprinkle the magic production over it after Demetrios has written the track and Belonda's sung it.

MIKE: I try and pull it all together. It can be a long process from an early demo turning that into a version that I work on and try and build the sound and it goes round back and forth between us with ideas until we have a version we're happy with and we send it out to DJs and get early feedback. The next step is to get remixes done and pull the whole package together, so it's a long process from start to finish

ILM: But a worthwhile process once it's all done.

MIKE: We're really chuffed with the full package. We've got the Jackinbox mix that's on the next Housexy album by Mr Fuzz and we've other great remixes that are getting really good feedback.

ILM: Describe this track, Thanking You?

MIKE: It started off as a very melodic vocal house track with retro house keys, but Mr Fuzz Jackinabox has made it much more heavy, dark and electro house version which is a hot sound at the moment, which I think is why Richard Murray picked that one up for the compilation. He's agreed to do a mix, which is a bit of a coup and I'm doing another mix which is more club focused. So there'll be a bunch of other mixes around soon.

ILM: Housexy…It's a great compilation as well.

MIKE: The previous ones were fantastic. It was a privilege to be on the compilation with some amazing artists, so I can't wait to hear the new album.
