Layo & Bushwacka! the dance double-act that brought us Love Story and Let the good times roll are back with a hot new remix. Peter Raeburn's cinematic Celebrare has been given the treatment by Layo & Bushwacka! and is now rocking dance floors across the globe with the duo's trademark tech-house sound.
Weaving together classical elements including a Bulgarian choir, Scottish renaissance singers and a New York-based gypsy-punk band, the track has a musical DNA unlikely to be matched by any of this summer's soundtracks. Throw in some melodic Latin vocals, harps, violins and huge double basses; layer it all over a muscular bassline and you've got an idea of what 'Celebrare' (pronounced 'Kel-eh-bra-ray') sounds like.
The track features a brooding string intro instantly recognisable from the original, with a building bassline warbling then breaking to reveal Raeburn's euphoric Latin vocal. The tech-house breakdown follows a cinematic mix of rising strings and chanting vocals using a bass hook straight from the Space Terrace.
Road tested by Layo & Bushwacka! on their recent tour, Celebrare has already made an impact in Miami, Sydney and of course - The End. The Olmetto Records front men worked closely with composer Peter Raeburn and co-writer/co-producer Nick Foster, who originally cut the track for the Smirnoff Sea ad (the one with lots of planes and boats coming out of the sea), to ensure the right balance between the original's classical roots and their ever-evolving sound. The result is a euphoric remix combining classical elements and modern synths, the likes of which are rarely heard in today's clubs.
