Danny: ilikemusic because... It's my lifeSince crossing the Atlantic back in April, from their native home at True Panther records in the States, and signing a deal with Rob da Bank's Sunday Best label in the UK, the summer of 2009 has seen the trio wow British spectators and receive media acclaim. The euphoric, acid-bleached clattering of their debut single 'Big Weekend' made an indelible impact on the playlists of Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw and Edith Bowman in August and made way for a few very special live shows to draw summer to a close, which culminated in Lemonade's explosive performance at this year's Bestival!
Now, the scene is set for the band to release their follow-up single to the expectant throng of followers in Europe...
Released on 12" and download, Bliss Out is Lemonade's most unrestrained track to date. A tempting Liquid Liquid-esque drift of bass and percussion start the track and, as tension builds, a smattering of rave stabs pepper the verse as Callan delivers meandering psychedelic vocals. Then at breaking point, the track suddenly bursts, spewing out a surge of multicoloured chimes and lo-fi jungle breaks and as the frenetic live drums wash over the syncopated riffs, the crescendo reaches a monumental high. It's Rave, but not as we know it!
