It's the collective mind of the human race.Pendulum follow a remarkable 2008 in which they've established themselves as one of the most successful breakthrough acts with the release of a DMD single Showdown available now on Warner Bros. Records / Ear Storm. Showdown is taken from their #2 album In Silico.
2008 also saw Pendulum make major inroads towards repeating their success on the other side of the Atlantic. Their performance at this year's Coachella and the launch episode of Carson Daly's POV music series has created a buzz around the band that is reflected in growing audiences across the States. The band's recent debut tour of North America saw them sell-out a succession of theatre shows, some of which were comparable in size to the venues that they play in the UK. Not only did they pack venues in key cities such as New York and Los Angeles, but their ability to draw audiences in places as diverse as Denver, Toronto and Boston is indicative of their growing mainstream appeal.
The North American media has proved to be particularly supportive of the band, with Spin, the L.A. Times and Billboard all contributing notable press support. At radio, the single 'Propane Nightmares' is one of KROQ's most requested tracks and stations from Albany to Sacramento have been eager to get on the Pendulum bandwagon.
In the UK, Pendulum's In Silico album debuted at #2 in the album charts and has since reached Gold status. Their single Propane Nightmares hit the Top 10 and was nominated for a Kerrang! Award for Best Single. Backed by a number of the summer's most memorable festival appearances, including Jay-Z / Linkin Park's Projekt Revolution, Creamfields, Download, Reading / Leeds and T in the Park, Pendulum have become a vital live act - aptly demonstrated by how their gigs have continually moved onto bigger venues on each successive tour.
