Primary 1 & Riton - Radiate

Yet another slice of brilliance from the ongoing collaboration between Primary 1 and Riton, Radiate follows in the footsteps of Who's There?, shining a spotlight on these two brilliant musical kindred sprits.

Radiate bears all the hallmarks of its creators - totally original pop music for a new decade. Radiate comes with the sharp production you'd expect from these guys, along with a keen pop sensibility. Taking on the baton from the likes of Beck and Hot Chip, it is two-and-a-half minutes of pop genius - fun and accessible, all bouncing beats and synths sounds of all shapes and sizes. Its eyes are locked on the dancefloor with thrilling invention and an incredible breakdown.

Directed by Bob Harlow, the nuke-tastic video sees our dastardly duo trapped in a bunker in an armageddon-like scenario, with a gruesome climax...

On top of this, new track Foaming is being released on incredibly limited vinyl - only 100 copies will be available. It's another collaboration, this time with LA-based acquaintance Teebs, a mixed-media artist in the most diffuse sense. Teebs has provided the artwork. With his talent for manipulation of a broad sampling spectrum, Teebs has evoked highly emotive and often nostalgic paintings and drawings that seem to live in his own world. By creating visuals and sounds that fit pleasurably together but allow the viewer to explore each piece fully themselves he lures onlookers inside.

Remixes come courtesy of Riton and Bristol's finest, Joker - stay tuned for those.

Primary 1 is now putting the finishing touches to his debut album, set for release Spring 2010 on Atlantic.
