Röyksopp, aka Svein Berge & Torbjørn Brundtland, release their brand new single This Must Be It through Wall of Sound, available from October 26th 2009.
Featuring the unmistakable vocals of fellow Scandinavian Karin Dreijer Andersson (The Knife, Fever Ray), This Must Be It is the latest single to be lifted from Röyksopp's highly acclaimed Junior album.
This Must Be It is a fast paced anthemic masterpiece - a thrilling and atmospheric track which fits perfectly with the uniquely haunting vocals of Karin, and it cements both her and Röyksopp's reputations as two of the most innovative and individual artists in the world today.
Karin says "I got into the song very quickly first time I heard it. The demanding tempo and the space and atmosphere made me start thinking about Kathryn Janeway and her efforts as a captain at the USS Voyager. And it was very hard to resist the Modern talking vibe, I had to do some falsetto choirs too."
This Must Be It comes complete with brand new mixes from the likes of Thin White Duke (Stuart Price), Apparat, Danton Eeprom, Florian Meindl, LehtMoJoe, Maxime Dangles, Moguai, Pete Herbert, Rex the Dog and The Bloody sisters (TBS). It also comes with an incredible video directed by acclaimed Swedish directors Andreas & Filip Nilsson (The Knife, Peter, Bjorn & John) which is a semi-biblical story that takes place in an all nude utopic hippy-world.
Röyksopp's new album Junior has already been described as 'genius' by The Sun, 'pop perfection' by iDJ and 'our happy pill of the day' by the Sunday Times. It follows their massive million selling debut Melody A.M released 2001, the gold certified album The Understanding in 2005 and their hit singles Eple, Poor Leno, Only This Moment and Remind Me, which won Best Video at the MTV Europe Awards.
Röyksopp arrive back in the UK to headline the following 2009 dates:
Thursday 5th November - LONDON - 02 Shepherds Bush Empire
Wednesday 4th November - LEEDS - Uni Stylus
