SWAYZAK - ‘SNOWBLIND’

Just in time for spring, there's a new Swayzak single. The 4th single from last year's ''Loops from the Bergerie'' offers a new perspective on two album tracks.

As a prelude, there is a brand new version of 'Snowblind'. The album version, a song-oriented shuffle techno track has been reborn as a purely dancefloor oriented burner by Brun, James Taylor and Kenny Paterson. The song is clean, powerful and direct, awaking memories of the well known, minimal sound of the Brits.

The first remix of the once-vocal-oriented 'Another Way' confirms a return to old virtues and shows what happens when the singer of a track gets a chance to rock its remix. Richard Davis, who appeared 3 times on 'Loops from the Bergerie' as a vocalist, lends 'Another Way' his cool but soulful voice. Davis demonstrates his talent as a producer by reducing his own vocals into a pumping yet minimal framework for 'Another Way'.

As a variation on the theme, Side B features a second guest contribution for 'Another Way'. The Canadian Mathew Jonson, figurehead for the label Itiswhatitis on which his series of breakthrough, high-quality releases assured that no one will mispronounce the label name again. In Jonson's hands, 'Another Way' becomes an arresting, transfigured pendulum, riddled with elaborate sound bits. It is a mixture which made his smash hit 'Typerope' a regular on the world's turntables in 2003.

This, for the time being, last single from 'Loops from the Bergerie' drives the Swayzak sound back to its roots: the dancefloor.
