Soulwax release their massive live and club anthem 'NY Excuse' on June 27th on PIAS Recordings. The single will be made available on 7" Picture Disc, 12" and Maxi CD formats which feature new tracks and mixes, amongst them a brand new Soulwax 'Nite Version' mix, a remix by Justice (of Simian 'Never Be Alone' fame) and a new track by Soulwax remixed by the mighty DFA entitled 'Another Excuse', once again featuring vocals by Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem/Juan Maclean.
Dropping in at over 8 minutes long, this is a classic combination of both Soulwax and DFA firing on all cylinders and set to become a future club classic. This also follows their widely played Shibuya reworking of LCD's 'Daft Punk Is Playing In My House' that scorched dancefloors earlier this year.
Completing this monster package is the highly sought after 'NY Lipps (Kawazaki Dub)'. First heard in Miami, this bootleg which mashes the original with Lipps Inc's 'Funky Town', is already fast becoming an underground smash, and has been cleared in time to squeeze onto the single. NY Excuse is accompanied by an amazing new video courtesy of Chris Palmer, part Pink Floyd, part sixties infomercial that shows the band at perhaps their most tongue in cheek to date, with a cameo from Nancy for good measure. The video will feature on the CD release.
