Swayzak - Route De La Slack

James Taylor and David "Brun" Brown first took their places behind the mixing board in 1993. Four albums, around thirty singles, and who knows how many remixes later, Swayzak is synonymous with free-spirited Minimal House, and it's time for a retrospective.

This Spring, nine years after their first release, !K7 Records and Swayzak will release a collection of remixes and previously unreleased tracks entitled ROUTE DE LA SLACK to celebrate the group's tremendous recording history

The first disc contains 12 of Swayzak's best remixes, featuring reworkings of song by George Sarah, Senor Coconut, Theorem, Will Saul and many more. Swayzak's remixes are as distinctive and unique as their original works; their dark interpretation of Slam's "Human" has a completely different style than the vocal techno remix of Tahiti 80's "Changes". Swayzak is known for taking a well known song like "Random Access Memory" by Bergheim 34 or "Smoke On The Water" by Senor Coconut and reinventing the track, transfixing critics and dance-floors alike.

The second CD concentrates on Swayzak's past. It includes previously unreleased rarities from 1994 to 2005, beginning with the catchy "I Love Lassie", and the nine-year-old "Saints". These songs show Swaysak's abilities beyond the four-to-the-floor bass drum. You can always pick up that disctinctive Swayzak sound in these songs, but there is something different, younger, and more unusual to these "forgotten" tracks.
