You could be completely miserable or waiting for a bus and put on any song that inspires you and you can escape into a little world, well that’s what I tend to do anyway.

Global Gathering A Success

GLOBAL GATHERING SELL OUT

Global Gathering 2005, the newly expanded dance music weekender was an official sell out, making history as the UK's biggest two day dance music festival.

Global Gathering, the two day festival took place at the Long Marston Airfield in Stratford Upon Avon. The event opened on Friday 29th when 15,000 camping guests arrived for the first night which saw Underworld perform one of their most memorable live sets. They didn't just bring their tents, but a giant dose of party fever: the crowds were there to let their hair down and go mad to the best DJ line up the UK has seen in years.

Britain's premier dance music ambassador Mr Pete Tong launched the event live to the nation from his specially created beach stage along with 2manydjs and Erol Alkan. Anyone who wasn't at the festival wished they were when they heard his show which was able to transmit the electric atmosphere as well as the music. Tong also had his own Essential marquee which featured the likes of Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish and James Zabeila.

That night the crowds packed out the Global arena to watch Mylo play live; they sung along riotously to Kosheen's live rendition of "Hide You" and you'd have thought the roof would come off when Sasha dropped a remix of the Killer's "Mr Brightside". The atmosphere continued well into the early hours with the Happy Monday's at their indie best. The fairground lit the night sky with luminous colours and clubbers were seen bungee jumping and roller coasting until the music stopped at 2am.
