The musical u-turn that is Bombay Bicycle Club’s new acoustic album consists of 11 tracks of delicate melancholy, each of which is accompanied by an appropriately lo-key live video. This, the video for the title track Flaws, is shot at lead singer Jack Steadman’s house, with singer-songwriter and one-to-watch Lucy Rose making an appearance on backing vocals. Complete with birdsong and sirens in the background, it’s an intimate performance that perfectly showcases Steadman’s ability to pen beguilingly honest and affecting songs in the vein of Jackson C Frank or Loudon Wainwright, of whose Motel Blues Steadman does a spine-tingling cover.
