This track was released by Ali as a free download following a shout out online for producers to send him beats, here’s the lo-down -
“A few weeks ago I put out a call on Facebook and Twitter for producers to send me beats for Streets’ Mixtape and received over 900 beats in the first 24 hours. I ended up choosing this track from Medium Zach and did the song the next day. Peep game.” Brother Ali
The Minneapolis rapper is part of the legendary, independent hip hop label Rhymesayers. Having released a series of records both critically lauded and popularly adored along with his long standing DJ partner BK-One, Brother Ali has recently been on the road. He’s played Glastonbury festival and toured the UK, setting crowds alight with his passionate messages of individuality. Often hailed as ‘your favourite rapper’s favourite rapper’, Brother Ali continues to push himself to the next level.
For the record, BK-One is currently taking a break as Ali’s DJ to start a family. After ten years together, it’ll be interesting to see where Ali goes next.
