Taken from Grum’s debut album, Through The Night is as thoroughly ‘80s as shoulder-pads and neon legwarmers. It samples the vocal line from Toto’s We Can Make It Through Tonight, shifting it several tones down in pitch and setting it to a shimmering disco house beat that’s so damn catchy it would make Calvin Harris blush.
The promo video for the song is the greatest ‘80s cop film never made. Better even than the Beastie Boys’ Sabotage video, its camp, moustachioed glory fits the soundtrack so perfectly one could be forgiven for thinking that the two were conceived in tandem. Everything else aside, the facial expressions of the small cop are enough to keep us entertained all day long.
