As a small New-York three piece the competition to top the pop charts and somehow break through Lady Gaga’s ever present shadow of pop domination can be a daunting task. So. fun. decided to show-off their pop writing ability with a series of acoustic videos filmed in their temporary London apartment during their UK tour, following the release of their debut album Aim & Ignite. Of course the videos aren’t perfect, but that’s part of their charm. If a song still sounds tuneful and catchy recorded live, in a bedroom, without make-up, smoke, mirrors and choreographed pop routines, then just IMAGINE what it would sound like with all of that added on top? A winning formula right?
What we love about these videos is that they make us feel like we’re watching a really talented, lovely bunch of normal people. You don’t need designer clothes to be a pop star, just some good songs and an original approach. Which leads to the even greater conclusion that we too could be popstars! (Although the ‘good songs’ part really is the most important....)
fun. have decided to meld influences from the Beach Boys to Broadway into one collection of be-bop along pop and we’re rather big fans. The band are currently touring a bunch of festivals in the US, they also have a rather exciting, colourful collection of Tees... Yay!
