The Hundred In The Hands are a boy-girl duo from Brooklyn who play synth-led indie that ranges from dreamy to dancefloor. Combining elements of Magic Wands’ retro pop with the atmospherics of chillwavers such as Washed Out, they arrive at a sound with a softer edge than the former but more get-up-and-go than the latter.
Pigeons is the first track to surface from their forthcoming debut album, due out in September. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is their most commercially accessible release to date, its catchy vocals and spectral synth lines sure to prick up many an ear in the coming weeks. Its accompanying video is equally attention-grabbing, following a young girl who spews sparks and defies the conventions of gravity in Wonderland-tinged cavort through a drunken evening.
