Once upon a time, many moons ago, the charts were occupied solely by a strange breed of pop beast called the ‘boy band’. It was virtually impossible to walk down your local high street without seeing gangs of young men leaning moodily against walls, singing about the highs and lows of the romantic experience before breaking into choreographed dances. Nor could one leave the house without seeing a distressed youth staring into the middle distance while a wind-machine ruffled his hair. But after a time they began to disappear. One source claims that an outbreak of pneumonia all but killed the species off, caused by the groups of lads kneeling in torrential rain, fists clenched, cursing the universe for their misfortunes in love.
But wait, what’s this? Five young men in a building site striking dramatic poses? Pleading with a girl to take them back? Can it be? Is this…THE RETURN OF THE BOY BAND?!?!
