BERNARD: ilikemusic because... IT MAKES ME RELAX GET ENJOYED AND HAVE A PIECE OF MIND AND FUN
Chuck, Simple Plan: ilikemusic because... It was always a way to escape whatever problems I was going through; whatever trouble I had, I could just put on a record or a song and feel better right away and I hope that our music can have the same effect on our fans.
Sarah Christine: ilikemusic because... Music is like a puzzle. Each peice by itself is unique and looks like no other puzzle peice, but when you put it all together, you expeirience a completely different picture. It's on an almost daily basis that I find myself getting lost in my music, and I love it!
Jarrah waia: I like music coz iam a dancer and i rip it up
gpm100: ilikemusic because... I just do!!!!!
Kal Lavelle: ilikemusic because... it's cheaper than a therapist! ;)
Master Gee: ilikemusic because... It gives me an opportunity to truly express myself, unlike what happens in an everyday living situation where there are restrictions on you and limitations on you and demands on you and bills to pay, through music I can truly be comfortable with who I am, and do what I really want to do and say what I really want to say.
O'Bailey: ilikemusic because... I can live vicariously through a song, whether it's a screaming angry rock anthem or a silly kids song ("I'm a little yellow fish" anyone?) haha!
And indeed it has paid off. Today Alesha mentions Barack Obama.
"I think it's wonderful, his speech was fantastic, when he said 'We have chosen hope over fear' that really struck a chord with me. You need to have belief in yourself, whatever you want to do. You're the only one who can make yourself successful. The days of waking up feeling anxious, or sad or lost are gone for me. I know what I want. I know I am the only one who can make that happen. That's the belief you need to have. I'm not going to stand in anybodies way, but I am going to make my own way myself, that's the only way it can be done. Obviously I have a huge amount of great friends and family there to support me, but at the end of the day, it comes down to you."
Wise words indeed. After turning 30 in 2008, it is clear that Alesha's sense of direction will only lead her to the places she wants to be. It seems as well, that the ilikemusic team are not the only fans of Alesha Dixon, with Prime Minister Gordon Brown calling her a "national treasure" after she was invited to breakfast with Sarah Brown.
