I Think Bad Thoughts is the third video to be released from Danko Jones’ fifth album Below The Belt, and it completes a trilogy of videos accompanying that album. Preceded by Full Of Regret and Had Enough, together the three videos form a mini-film featuring some pretty heavyweight talent; Elijah Wood, Selma Blair, Lemmy and Jena Malone, as well as Danko himself.
Admittedly, the story that’s being told across these videos isn’t immediately obvious - even after a couple of watches - but it includes clones, shotguns, beautiful cars and enough intrigue and style to make up for that fact. And, without wishing to state the obvious, it’s soundtracked by Danko Jones, which means sneering rock and roll guitars and rip-roaring choruses aplenty. How can you lose?
Presumably it’s only a matter of time before Tarantino turns it into the sassy crime caper it’s begging to be…
