More Fire Crew were at the vanguard of the grime movement back at the turn of the millennium, their single Oi! one of the first chart hits that the genre experienced. In ’05 Neeko left, leaving Ozzie B and Lethal Bizzle to continue on their own as Fire Camp, but with Lethal’s solo career taking off the new incarnation of the crew has been relatively quiet over the last few years. They came back to the scene at the end of last year with the track Shut Up, which they now follow up with this new cut, Move.
Produced by Teeza, Move is a proper old-school grime track; high-energy bass and an in-your-face vocal hook courtesy of the ever-deranged 2Face. Lethal and Lady Leshurr both go in hard, the former chucking in a cheeky reference to Jme’s POW 2011 contribution, but it’s Scrufizzer who steals the show with his ridiculously speedy bars, summed up in the closing salvo “I am the star of the show, fast with the flow, boy better know Scrufizzy don’t move.”
The video takes place in a mental asylum, with straightjackets, flickering lights, dank concrete walls and geeky guards aplenty. It’s got a distinctly low-budget feel to it – probably because Lethal splashed all his cash on the POW 2011 video – but somehow the raw feel of it seems to make sense given the kind of grime track it’s accompanying.
