Introducing POLAR.

POLAR.

Guildford-born hardcore metal band POLAR. have had a great year. Rising from the ashes of a clutch of local bands, including the cult heroes who couldn’t quite find their big break, The Comanche Cipher, the heavy-hitting five-piece have been steadily accruing fans both in the pit and behind the scenes. Gallows bassist Stuart Gill-Ross was among those fans, and he gave the boys a major step up when he took them out on tour with his band and signed them to his management company towards the end of last year.

As well as giving them the platform to woo a whole load more riff-hungry kids, the Gallows support slot allowed them to come to the attention of Wolf At Your Door Records, home of Lower Than Atlantis and Deaf Havana, and the label is now getting ready to release POLAR.’s debut EP, This Polar Noise, on February 21st 2011.

Five songs and just short of twenty minutes long, the EP is furiously energetic. The rhythm section jumps easily from driving beats and determined breakdowns to technically challenging patterns at break-neck speeds, while the guitars span the distance between punishing metal riffs and intricate treble licks with consummate ease, over all of which lead singer Woody shreds his vocal chords like every word he screams is his last.

Head to Head to Wolf At Your Door Records to pick up a copy of the EP.
