Make Trade Fair Live Press Conference

Conor and Daniel from The Thrills, Andy and Bjorn from Razorlight, Minnie Driver, Jamelia and Dermot O'Leary showed their support of Make Trade Fair at the press conference. With all artists providing their services for free, and all ticket proceeds going to Oxfam and the Make Trade Fair campaign, they spoke about the need to raise awareness about these issues.

"Musicians have a great platform and position to educate and encourage those taking an interest in what's going on globally. I don't think many kids know that poverty is one of the most preventable issues in the world," said Minnie.

Minnie herself travelled to Cambodia and Thailand with Oxfam in 2004 to visit women textile workers.

"To see some of these 17 year olds in Cambodia living in extraordinary poverty to make clothes that we all wear, and nobody is looking out for them and they've not had a voice, until now," she added. "Apathy is the greatest reason for doing anything."

"The people at Oxfam never stop trying to raise awareness and draw attention to these incredible causes that go over our heads most of the time."
