Lupe Fiasco: ilikemusic because... It gives me a chance to escape and reach people I wouldn’t ordinarily be able to reach. And without music the world would be kinda quiet.
Leon Jean-Marie: ilikemusic because... It transcends. It really creates emotion with someone. That feeling it gives you, it goes through boundaries. To create something, it just breaks through all the walls. When you connect with a song, that is it, that is magic isn't it?
leah + melissa: ilikemusic because... its sick
Lyoko: ilikemusic because... i love dance, indie and urban genres!
Estelle: ilikemusic because... It enables me to get my feelings out and it’s borderline therapy for me. Music makes me feel.
Kelly Rowland: ilikemusic because... Music sets me free. It’s freedom.
ashutosh: ilikemusic because... whatever journey you're on, you need a sountrack.
RejinaReclusive: ilikemusic because... it helps me remember. It helps me forget. It helps me be strong and it makes me cry. Music screams the words I can't say, the feelings I can't express. It makes my heart feel alive.
Patrick: ilikemusic because... Music came from the universe...always finding a way into societies from the beginning of time. I imagine it has always been out there waiting for us to show up. I'm so glad we made it! O2 Wireless Festival returns. Kim Hillyard reports from the recent intimate launch event.
From the 3rd-6th July 2008, the heart of London will be transformed into a heady mix of storming beats, rolling grooves, sunshine, beer and inner city festival frolics as the O2 Wireless Festival takes over Hyde Park for its fourth year of music mayhem.
Skanking his way to the top of the bill, Rockafeller style, Fatboy Slim will be headlining the main stage Saturday evening.
Norman Cook said:
"For a long while I've wanted to play outdoors in London, but I just couldn't find a beach! Hopefully we can bring some of the spirit of the Brighton shows to the heart of London town. The first ever gig I went to was Queen in Hyde Park, 1975! So it's come full circle."
Pledging allegiance to the funk, the whole funk and nothing but the funk, Bootsy Collins will be making an appearance at the festival, for his first performance in the UK for seven years. With a collection of bass lines deep fried in full-fat funk; a tradition of out-landish behaviour and his glitter splattered, colourful, unique live shows, Bootsy will be leading the crowds to the mothership and back once more during this not to be missed performance.
