The Ultimate Rock Band - Guillemots Reveal Their Choices
Who would you choose?
Queen front-man Freddie Mercury has been voted the best rock singer ever in a poll by Electronic Arts to find the four rock stars dead or alive that would make up the ultimate Rock Band.
Mercury beat off stiff competition from the likes of Mick Jagger and Kurt Cobain, but with some of rocks most legendary figures making up the rest of the fantasy band, even showman Mercury would have trouble stealing the limelight.
Jimi Hendrix was voted as the ultimate rock guitarist in the poll, narrowly beating both Slash and Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page. On bass, the Chilli Peppers Flea proved to be red hot as Rock fans voted him into first place, with possibly the world's most famous bass player Paul McCartney only managing to finish second. Yet no band would be complete without an amazing drummer and it is Keith Moon who finishes off the Ultimate Rock Band line-up.
The poll, which ran on website GigWise.com to celebrate the release of new game Rock Band from EA, also quizzed music fans on a number of other subjects including best rock album, best ever gig and most outrageous moment in rock history.
