Stephen Duffy - Memory & Desire: 30 Years

During this period Duffy would score 2 top twenty singles, Kiss Me (which made number 3 in 1985) and Icing On The Cake (which made number 13 the same year). He also released a brace of albums during this time - The Ups And Downs (1985) Because We Love You produced by Stephen Street (1986) & Designer Beatnik as Dr. Calculus MDMA (1986)

In 1986 Duffy formed The Lilac Time with his brother Nick. Musically coming from a much more acoustic direction, their debut self-titled album was released in 1987 on the Swordfish label (and re-issued in 1988 following their signing to Fontana). 2 further albums followed on Fontana - Paradise Circus (1989) & Love For All (1990) before they signed to Creation, releasing Astronauts in 1991.

The band would re-group in the late '90s and release Looking For A Day In The Night in 1999, Lilac 6 in 2001, Keep Going (under the name of Stephen Duffy and The Lilac Time) in 2003 and most recently Runout Groove in 2007.
