Doing The Right Thing – How To Handle Peer Pressure

"The most important thing is to just do what you do with honesty," advises vocalist and bassist, Dan Fisher from Cooper Temple Clause.

"Don't pander to anyone. You've got to be true to yourself and honest, and you've got to do something that comes from the heart.

"Stick to your ideals, stick to your guns and do it your own way. And get people around you that you can you trust. Our manager is a friend of ours from school, and we know we can trust him implicitly, so that's very important as well."

Being true your self makes you less easily led by other people. You don't want to be steered into doing something you're not into.

Danny from 365 couldn't agree more. His English teacher tried to steer him towards a career that didn't interest him in the slightest!

"I liked Games and Art, but Maths and English were not my thing," explains Danny. "My English teacher tried to put me in the army. He said to my mum that I needed discipline because I was playing football when I was supposed to be in the class room. He even sent army letters and leaflets to my mum at my address! Can you believe it?"

Luckily, Danny chose to stick to his guns, ie. sport and art, and it's paid off. 365 signed to Innocent records in 2006 and released their debut album in early 2007.
