The first album from RACINE a.k.a Wendy James.
Wendy was born to 'parents unknown'. She was placed in a childrens' home for the first six months of her life until she was adopted by the James's who took her to their home on the south coast of England near Brighton. A regular education ensued of which the highlight was her music life, from after school lessons in piano and clarinet to singing in La Boheme with the Glyndebourne Opera Company.
Losing interest in classical lessons, instead drawn to Rock'n Roll gigs in nearby Brighton . The Clash, really, . she regularly sneaked in, under age, always making it right up to the crash barrier and loving every second of it.
The age of sixteen is when you are legally able to leave home in England and the week previous to Wendy's sixteenth birthday, taking nothing with her, she emptied her savings account and bought six weeks worth of rent for some digs in the nearby town, not only leaving home but school also, instead enrolling in the local college for further studies in English literature.
