Wendy James Biography

So who do you look to in the A & R world? Dave Ambrose that's who . the guy who signed the Pistols to E.M.I. Wendy and Nick took their demo to him and said ' we're gonna be the biggest band in the world' Ambrose said ' I'll give you some demo time' . In the basement of E.M.I on Manchester square Transvision Vamp made over three of their songs (still just Wendy and Nick) Ambrose said 'I'm going to sign you , but listen . if I sign you to E.M.I, I wont be here . I've just been offered the M.D of M.C.A . come there with me'.

So Transvision Vamp signed with M.C.A.
They made their first album 'Pop Art' with Ambrose but he parted ways with M.C.A shortly after. Over a game of table football in the local pub where many challenges were fought and lost Wendy and Nick found the rest of T.V.V, there and in 'Johnsons' the clothing store in Kensington Market that dressed you up like Elvis Presley.
