Some N.M.E buzz and the first tour of the U.K culminating in two nights at the Marquee club in London. From the beginning of the tour through to London, their third single 'I want your love' went to number five and there were queues two deep around a whole London block . their first album debuted at number four in the U.K chart .Tours of Europe, hit records, a first U.S tour; in with the in crowd, in with college radio, in with Rodney on the Roq.
Back to England and the second album. 'Velveteen' went straight in at number one . not just in England but across Europe, Australia . Australia went crazy for it. Wendy was on the cover of every style and music magazine . she was voted number one sex symbol in France . and more and more and more. They left one December, toured the world and returned the next, headlined the European festivals, did multiple nights at the Hammersmith Odeon and Brixton Academy. All the singles were hits, the big one was 'Baby I don't care'.
