First Artists for the Alternative Stage and Further Additions to the Bill

With a host of exclusive performances including Metallica's only UK shows, The Killer's only UK shows and the full live public debut of The Last Shadow Puppets, this year's Reading and Leeds festival is indisputably the king of the festivals. All tickets for the event sold out in record time across both the sites, an ideal way to celebrate the tenth year of Leeds, the North's only three day festival and the twentieth year since the Festival Republic team took control of the Reading Festival and made if the world beating event it is today.

For those lucky enough to be in possession of a ticket, promoters Festival Republic are pleased to announce the following additions to the bill.

The Blackout have been added to the line-up for the Main Stage

The Blackout are six metallic troubadours from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales. They consist of Sean Smith (vocals), Gavin Butler (vocals), James Davies (guitar), Matthew Davies (guitar), Rhys Lewis (bass) and Gareth Lawrence (drums). 'We Are The Dynamite!' is their debut full-length album out now Fierce Panda and the band come to the festival tipped by both NME and Kerrang amongst others, the former deeming them "a side-splitting, smarmy, cocky joy".
