I find it difficult to get through a month without a Les Fleurs euphoric moment. In fact, it is always the song I choose to play at the end of a long night, to send all to bed in style and warmth. If I had to explain to an alien from outer-space what a ‘CHORUS’ was in a song, I would use this as the most magnificent example of pure crescendo perfection.

I’ve only recently discovered this album and love it. The band were already working on The Dark Side of the Moon, one of the first albums I fell in love with, but production was interrupted when the band travelled to France to score their soundtrack to the French film La Vallée by Barbet Schroeder.
The album is based on this score and has some great guitar hooks, sounds and lyrics. Stay, the penultimate song is classic Pink Floyd; a brilliantly stirring ballad with dry humour weaved nonchalantly into the second verse; first romantically luring the lady to ‘Stay’ the night, in the morning he ‘racks my brain and try to remember you’re name’...

The III Part - South Park Triliogy: Imagination Land
I was ill a few weeks back and ended up watching this. Along with the endless giggles and ridiculousness of the scenes, there is always a soulful SP message. This trilogy questions whether ‘Imagination land’ exists like the reality we live in. I found myself thinking about it in my ill, hallucinogenic state and realised that a lot of my writing is inspired by the idea of dreaming and the fine line that separates dreams from reality.
I think I’ve lived my life trying to get somewhere, reaching for things seemingly unattainable, sometimes reaching them and sometimes not. It is true after all that every invention ever made was once only a dream in someone’s mind. The idea of Imagination Land as a real place is an important and appealing one because everyone needs to escape at times…as long as it doesn’t include sucking on Cartman’s balls! Hee hee ho ho.
