Bursting onto the scene in 2010, Jagga made a huge impact with the release of his debut single Modern Day Romance at the beginning of December. Combining forward-thinking production with elements of dubstep, pop, electro and a sprinkle of dancehall swagger, the Hackney-based artist now turns his attention to an I Like Music Guest Edit.

Track
Artist: PVT Track: Crimson Swan Release: August 2010 Label: Warp Records
This track gives me goose bumps every time I hear it. The structure is really unconventional, it constantly builds tension throughout and never gives you what you expect. The sound effects that pan through the first verse are a really nice touch. The stand out moment for me comes midway through the track. A guitar line rises that feels like its leading to a chorus but drops into this droning synth...you have to hear it!
Album
Artist: Rustie Album: The Sunburst EP Release: October 2010 Label: Warp Records
For my Album of the Week I’ve chosen an EP; The Sunburst EP by Rustie. He’s signed to the mighty Warp Records, who have a solid history of supporting new and interesting music. The Sunburst EP is like stumbling into a neon day-glow alternate reality, or stepping into a manga cartoon for half an hour. It's high energy, colourful and in your face with powerful, tight, crunkesque beats.

Artist: LCD Soundsystem Track: Drunk Girls Release: May 2010 Label: EMI
LCD Soundsystem’s Drunk Girls is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. They seem genuinely surprised by what’s happening to them. It looks like they've been taken in to a room and told, whatever happens just go with it. I always say the best ideas or concepts are very simple, but well executed and this one sits in that category.
The video was made by Spike Jonze, who also directed and wrote a number of successful indie movies Where The Wild Things Are, Adaptation & Being John Malkovich to name a few. I hope you like it.
