I really like this track cos like myself he produces, raps and sings melodies on his records. This track is a perfect example of what happens when all 3 things are done well.
Now that albums are up on sites with the availability to download single tracks, finding an album that you actually listen to as a whole is rare. There's something about Ready To Die that lets you listen without having to skip a single track. Different concepts, beat choices and energy, but all the same Biggie Smalls vibe.
With so many people in competition to make the most expensive looking video, Odd Future just came with something natural and raw, which then gives you a chance to concentrate on the lyrics they're spitting. Sick visual.
A founding member of one of London's foremost grime collectives - Boy Better Know - Skepta has been an influential emcee and producer at the forefront of the genre since its birth at the beginning of the new millennium. His third album, Doin' It Again, came out in 2011 and entered the UK Albums Chart top 20. Skepta is now preparing to release the follow-up, titled The Honeymoon, later in 2012, and his new single Make Peace Not War has just been released.
