Signed to Deadmau5's Mau5trap recordings, Skrillex has been stirring things up with his slick productions of full on, bass heavy electronic music and this week, he's giving us a little insight into what makes him tick... He's combined Phonat as his top track with DnB stalwarts Noisia reigning supreme as his record of the year (if not ever), plus a highly entertaining video choice...

This is easily the most underrated electronic EP of 2010. I love the mixture of breaks, disco electro house and funk. It’s like Prodigy meets Daft Punk meets Justice. I don’t think anybody’s really doing anything like this. Phonat’s production is amazing and has always been a big influence in my music.

This could go into my Top Five electronic records of all time. It’s amazing front to back. Noisia started out pioneering drum & bass and progressed even more since then to make this masterpiece of an album that’s much more than your traditional dnb record. Some of the most amazing sound design and engineering too, this is one of my “go to” records. Not to mention they’re some of the coolest guys I’ve had the pleasure working / hanging with.
